Lupe sat under a tree with a pencil in one hand and her note book on her lap. She had only been here a week and the letters from home were flodding in. She wasn't too concerned about her parents however she hasn't really talked to anyone yet. However she couldn't completly ignore her parents. So she finished up the letter and folded it up placing it in the envelop. "I'm glad thats over,"
she thought out loud placing the letter in her note book and closing it. She then placed the note book down next to her watching the people as they walked by. She didn't understand why her parents just couldn't call. It wasn't like it was impossible for them. They had some money but maybe they just didn't want to waste it for long distant calls. 'Its not even that far. They will be fine with just one letter.' she thought to herself. After a while of concerning herself with her parents she pushed the thought out of her head and focused it on school. Right now she hadn't really made any friends she'd want to talk to out side of classes and it wasn't that she was shy it was that she really just didn't meet anyone so far that was really worth talking too. With a sigh she closed her eyes leaning her head agianst the tree. Not wanting to fall asleep but just praying for some silence and this seemed like the perfect place to just sit in silence. But unfortunatly thats not what she got. The stressed out thoughts had come back. There was just so much on her plate right now that it was hard to get any kind of quiet time to herself. But she didn't let this stop her from trying to push the thoughts back out. [/blockquote]

Well, life at the academy wasn't so bad. So far there seemed to be no bullies, or enemies for that matter, made. 'And there's lots of cute girls here, ve~' The Italian looked around holding his books and sighed. 'But still.. I don't know anyone.' He had been trying to talk to people all day, but they either stared at him and stayed quiet or just walked away; it was disappointing. 'My roommates seem so scary too, ne..' Feliciano could feel his optimistic mood slowly draining away, but still clung on to a bit of hope.
'I mean, a week is nothing right? There's still a whole year to make friends. At least I haven't made any enemies?' But then again, he was hit with a book earlier. Maybe it fell from a shelf? Bah. It was so troublesome. Feliciano sighed again and decided to just go with the flow and see what happened.
As he was walking off campus, he spotted his favorite tree and began toward it. 'Maybe a nap will help clear my head,' he thought a little happier, 'They always help.' When he approached however, he found someone in his usual spot. The Italian blinked and tensed for a moment, realizing it was a girl. 'So cute~ I hope she's not like that other one I met, ve? Who carries a frying pan around anyways?' "Ciao!" he greeted brightly before plopping down on the grass next to her. "I'm Feliciano, from Italy~ Let's be friends, ve?" He smiled nodded out of habit. "Who are you? You look pretty tan, are you from one of the Latin places?"
His first guess had to be Spain. She was too dark to be from any of the colder regions, but too light to be from one of the African countries. "Mm.. Maybe Spain? Italy's in Europe too!" Feliciano finally quieted down to give the girl a chance to respond, anxiously wondering what she would do. Walk away? Hit him with something? Ignore him completely? 'Anything but the second one, ve,' he told himself mentally.

Lupe heard a voice that almost made her jump. But before she could she opened her eyes putting on a friendly smile. Finally, a chance to talk to someone and not sit there looking like nobody wants anything to do with her. His first line took Lupe by surprise. Most would just try to get to know her first before they offered friendship. But for now she couldn't tell him no because she was sick of sitting alone. "Okay,"
she said with a polite smile on her face. The Italian boy looked cute and friendly and Lupe was glad to see this. "I'm Lupe," she said. "From Mexico," she added. Mexico was a colony of Spain who had fought for indipendence. Last she cheked she was on good terms with Spain though and would love to stay that way. "So your from Italy?" She asked sitting up. "Italian food and beautiful cities!" she said day dreaming a bit. "You must feel lucky to come from there." she said with a smile. How is Italy this time of year?" she asked. She stopped herself from asking more questions. Her parents being well, them wouldn't allow her to travel so much. It bothered her she couldn't go and see the other countries. Now was her chance while her parents couldn't get a hold of her so easily to meet new people and travel to new places. She was allowed to leave her home now and do what she wanted! [/blockquote]

Feliciano let out a sigh of relief; her first words to him weren't 'get lost' or anything along those lines. And on top of that, did she just accept being friends? Before he could ponder it more, she kept speaking. "Mexico? I've never been there before.." In fact, he didn't do too much traveling at all. He loved living in Italy and was quite afraid to go anywhere else really. Even though he loved to make friends, too many strangers in one place usually put him on edge. "Lupe Lupe Lupe~" He liked how the named rolled off his tongue; foreign places were to cool! "Well Mexico's kinda like Italy, ve?" The Italian put his school stuff next to him and sat crossed-legged, looking out at the campus. So one friend down, who knows how many to go.
'But she seems nice. And not dangerous.' He looked back at her again and tilted his head slightly to one side.
"Mhm. It's beautiful~ I only came here because.." 'Wait, why am I here?' He never bothered asking his parents just why they wanted to send him and his brother here.. Oh well. He changed the subject quickly. "I heard people from Mexico eat lots of weird things, ve? Is that true? I eat lots of pastaaa~ Do you? Say maybe we should study together sometime! You have to be smart, ve, if you're here." Feliciano stopped to take a breath from jumping from subject to subject. "So Lupeee," he began, dragging out second syllable, "What do you do? Or.. What's Mexico like?" The Italian finally figured he was probably talking too much, again.

Lupe smiled when he said her name multiple times. She liked her name, she felt it really fitted her. Was Mexico like italy? She wasn't sure. But she went through a list of comparisons she had in her head. "Our languiges are very similar,"
she pointed out with a smile. "Does that count?" She wasn't sure what else to tell him since she's only seen pictures of Italy in travle magazines. So far Feliciano seemed like a nice person. He wasn't trying to pressure her to do anything and he was really trying to get to know her and where she came from. This made her quite happy someone found her and decided to sit down and talk. Finally some wanted human comunication right? She couldn't get that happy smile off her face but lucilly he didn't mention anything about it. "Well first off, it's not as bad as people think. Sure, we have our problems but honestly whos perfect?" She pointed out. "Some parts are deserts other parts are jungle. Its a really pretty place too. Oh and the ocean is really nice!" She couldn't go on though. She closed her eyes and looked up again. She couldn't help but to feel a little home sick. Not for her parents who were overly clingy and wanted to baby her even though she wasn't a baby any more but for Mexico itself. "I love it there," she said with a smile. "But I'm glad to be here. The world is filled with opertunitys. You just have to find them." She finished speaking when she opened her eyes again and looked at the Italian. "You should come to Mexico some time." she said simply. [/blockquote]

"I think so. Siesta sounds kind of Mexican?" Well, not that he would know. Siesta could mean something totally different in another language for all he knew. After all, Feliciano had never been outside of Europe. He as a little surprised that the girl was smiling so much, seeing as everyone either looked bored or freaked out when he talked to them, but he didn't mind it. 'I wonder if anyone else on campus is like that, ve? I hope so! Then I'll have all these friends~' Feliciano stifled a yawn. Not having to run from someone had suddenly made him realize how tired he was. "Ne.. Is it three yet? It's probably time for a my daily siesta." The Italian glanced at Lupe and smiled a bit. "But I could put it off for a friend, ve? You seem nice, and the guys back at my dorm are kind scary, ve."
The little dorm family Feliciano imagined wasn't really coming together the way he had hoped. Things were still pretty much the same as the first day, and no signs of friendship or anything had showed. He had only learned where they were from and their names.. which he had suddenly forgotten. 'Ne ne! I feel kinda bad for not remembering them.. But it's their fault they're so scary,' he sighed mentally.
Feliciano raised an eyebrow at the Mexican's description of her homeland. "Desert? Jungle? Italy has lots of sun, but no jungle. But the ocean is beautiful, ve~ I wish there was an ocean or something near here, or even a lake to swim in." 'And to relax at. There's only all these crowded cafes and a weird subway.. Why don't these people travel under ground like moles, ve?' "Are you a mole?" he asked randomly, "Ne, I mean, do you travel on the subway? It's so weird." Underground? What if the place collapsed? To him, just walking or taking a bike was a good enough way to get around the place.
"Ohh? Ve! That would be fun~ Maybe when we have a break from the academy?" Well, maybe Feliciano's thinking wasn't exactly 'organized', but he saw nothing wrong with it. Not only that, but he had no idea how the academy worked on breaks, if they ever got any. He smiled and put an arm around Lupe's neck. "Ne~ We're best friends, right?" He paused. "You're my only friend so far so.. Is that okay?"

Lupe gave the Italian a curious gaze. "It does sound like spanish because it is."
she said. "A nap?" she asked. "Is that what you mean?" she assumed it might mean something diffrent in Italian but Lupe wasn't exactly sure. "What does it mean?" she asked. Then he asked if it was three yet. Lupe didn't cary a watch with her so she looked through her bag for her Cell phone. "Maldito, left it in my Dorm." She put back down her things and refused to search for something that wasn't there. It was good he considered her a friend already. "Scary?" she asked raising her eyebrows. "Well, maybe they'll leave you alone?" she asked trying not to be negitive about the subject. She wasn't a stranger with fear but she was good at hiding it. Not all the time though. "Oceans are always beautiful," she said in a relaxed tone. "Such a nice place to spend a day!" Water around here would be nice. Some where large for swimming or fishing would be great! Unfortunatly there was no place around here for that. Lupe would just have to adapt. Lupe asked at the first question of her being a mole. "No, I don't travel by the sub way unless I really need to get somewhere fast." she said simply. "Yeah, perhaps you can show my Italy too?" she asked looking at him. "That wuld be fun!" Best friends? Lupe was out to better herself. That sounded selfish but everyone was out to do that. Lupe was diffrent because she awknowledged her humanly intentions and didn't fight to change it. Why should she? Right now she didn't know how the italian could better her country. However she did see that he could make her stay at the academy a lot less lonely. That was good right? "Right," she finally agreed with a nod. "Thats perfectly fine." [/blockquote]

"Yea it does! You're good!" 'Siesta means the same thing in Mexican too? How neat!' To him, it was only one more thing that connected him to his now-best friend. 'I have to find Lovino and tell him sometime, ve~ I wonder where he went to? He'd probably like like Lupe!' The Italian thought to himself for a minute, wondering just where his older brother had run off to. He hadn't seen Lovino all week, and even when he saw his friend, Antonio, his brother was no where to be found. 'He must just be busy or something. The academy is pretty advanced stuff, ve.' But that was enough thinking far ahead; Feliciano preferred to focus on what was going on in the present, and right now, that was talking to his bffLupe. "It means nap in Italian too.. Maldito?"
"Ne.. I hope so. One of them is really quiet and he kind of just stares at me and I want to cry. I think he smokes too, because it smells weird when I walk in and he's there. The other one seems a little nicer, but when I want to be his friend, he just looks at me really weird.." He sighed and shrugged. "I hope they come around. Dorms are supposed to be like little families, ve?"
The Italian kept their close distance as he nodded; the student was never shy when it came to close contact, and always wondered what the rest of the world had against it. But, Lupe didn't seem to be minding to far. "Ve! We could go swimming and eat pasta all day and have sleepovers and watch Italian movies and have pillow fights!" he replied excitedly. It sounded so fun! So, it was a bit of a bummer when Feliciano realized they had a whole school year (or some amount of unknown time) before they had a break. 'Oh well, it will be worth the wait! Maybe later, my roommates and more of my friends will come over too! And.. and Lovino will come over and not hate me so much~'
"Ne, Lupe, you're so cute and not-scary, how come you're not surrounded by more friends, ve? I thought you would hit me when I first saw you, since people who are by themselves have issues a lot of the time, ve. But you seem nice!" 'Then again, I was alone too, ve.. Ne, maybe she was just like me with scary roommates?' he thought quietly to himself.

"Thank you,"
she replied afterhe had called her good. "Oh, that isn't Italian? Err...It means Damn." she said unsure what he would say to that. Some people, like her mother, didn't like her cussing. But she was eighteen now but her mother seemed to forget that. "I'm sure they'll come around," she said hopefully remembering that she shared a dorm with three guys one of them being Ivan. Don't get her wrong, she was glad Antonio was there but Ivan scared her. "I share a dorm with Antonio, Lovino, and Ivan," she explained. "Who do you share a dorm with?" she asked. "That seems like so much fun," she answered. "Real Italian Pasta in Italy! I've always wanted to do that. It would be great to do that with you!" Every thing he mentioned really did seem like a lot of fun. She just wished they could do this a little sooner rather then it being so far off. "Sleepovers? That sounds like a lot of fun too." "Thank you," she replied. "I don't know why I would hit you if you seemed so nice to come and talk to me." Why did she not have more friends? She wasn't really sure. "I'm actually not sure. I guess I haven't been here too long to meet a lot of people." she said. "I'm glad I have a new friend though," she said refering to him. [/blockquote]

Feliciano blinked. Oh. Well it did sound a little like one of the curses back home, but the Italian as still a little surprised that she would say something like that. Oh well, it wasn't like she said anything horrifically scary or inappropriate, and it wasn't even considered a curse in most places. "Oh, sorry. It's okay, ve." He wasn't sure what he was sorry for; maybe for repeating such a thing? He wasn't sure how Lupe felt about cursing. To Feliciano, it was rather unattractive, but he could live with it.
"N-ne?! Ivan!?" His thoughtful expression turned to one of fear as he heard the name. 'That crazy guy? He's rooming with Lupe? Ohh.. I hope she's okay still. She seems fine, ve.' The student wanted to help if things got bad, but a part of him also knew he wouldn't be able to bring himself to get involved in such a conflict. "Th-that's scary, ve.. Oh, Lovino?" One again his expression changed, this time to a remembering smile. "Ne, he's my brother!" he began proudly, "How is he doing? I haven't really seen him, ve, so I hope he's okay. Is he?" Event though his older brother seemed to never want anything to do with him, Feliciano would still greet him affectionately whenever he saw him and tried to talk to him like normal brothers would. So far unsuccessful, but we'd see.
"Oh, my roommates? I'm with a guy named Jan from.. I don't know, ve," he realized a little guiltily, "But, there's also Ludwig, from Germany," he added with a little more affection than intended. "He's scary sometimes too, but he doesn't seem so bad." 'Ne.. Aren't there four people in a room?' "Oh, and I think that's it, ve?" Was there even anyone else in the dorm? Who knows. When Lupe seemed happy about going to Italy, Feliciano was a little surprised. "Really? Ve? That's so cool! You're the first person who's been excited about that~" The guys back at the dorm.. not so much.
A new friend? The Italian smiled again, not grasping he was the one she was talking about. "Oh, see? Now you have two friends in one day, ve~" Feliciano glanced at the sky, tilting his head to one side quietly. Did it look like it was going to rain? That might be a problem, but then again it could have just been the weird weather. 'I don't know the weather around here, ve.. I kinda miss home.'

Lupe wasn't the kind who said many cuss words, they slipped out though. But then again it slipped out all the time? She was just so stressed that she really couldn't control it. "No need to be sorry,"
she told him. "I should be the one who is sorry." She thought for a few moment then nodded. "My same reaction," she expalined. She was in a dorm with his brother? Lovino seemed like a nice guy already and she didn't mind sharing a dorm with him. She smiled again. "Thats great," she said. "He seems really nice. I'll have to tell him that I met you and that we're friends." she said making a mental note to do so. With all this thoughts of dorms she hardly could hear him. So she had to pull herself out of her thoughts and listened to what he said. "Oh, he's doing fine. I think we're all stressed out with all the school and stuff and then we dorm with Ivan." she pointed out glancing around making sure he wasn't here to hear that. "I hope you'll get along with the people in you're dorm," she said in a hopeful tone trying to encourage him not to give up on it. She shrugged at his next comment. "Sounds like the summer of my dreams," she said. "I don't know who wouldn't be excited about that." she added. She giggled a few times and then shook her head. "I'm talking about you," she explained. "It helps a lot to have a friend. I'm honeslty not sure what's going on here some times," she admitted looking up at the sky with a relaxed smile sitting on her face. [/blockquote]

She was going to tell Lovino she saw him? Good, maybe he was feeling better from the last time Feliciano saw him. 'Ne, he was all weird and stuff, but then again he's always like that, ve..' Why his brother acted that way, he had no idea, but he decided not to concentrate on it too much right now. "Oh, thanks~ And yea! Do you get along with him?" Oh, wait, so Lupe already knew Lovino? That had to be good! After all, the Mexican had said nothing about them fighting or not getting along in the dorm, so maybe finding a friend like Lupe would somehow get Lovino to be happier with him? 'I hope so?' It was a confusing idea, but to Feliciano, it made sense. He nodded. "Yea.. If I Ivan was in my dorm, I wouldn't be able to ever sleep, ve!"
"Uhm.. But i don't know, ve. I suggested the same thing to them and they never respond, they just looked at me funny, ve.. But I hope you get along with that scary Ivan guy?"
She was talking about him? 'How nice, ve~ Definitely not like frying pan-girl,' he thought happily. The Italian felt suddenly tired, the day's work and stress finally catching up to him now that he had a chance to sit own. "Ne," he sighed, shoulders sagging under the weight of the academy and resting his head on Lupe's shoulder before closing his eyes, "I'm tired.. Yea, ve, it gets so crazy sometimes and I forget what day it is.." It was sadly true. 'Ne, what day is it anyways?' he realized. 'I guess it doesn't matter..' Feliciano wearily opened an eye and lifted his arm to glance at his wristwatch. 'No wonder! It's 3:17! I should have been having my siesta by now, ve..'
The brunette closed his eyes again and let his arm drop tiredly to his side. "Lupe-chan?" Feliciano had unknowingly picked up a thing or two from Kiku's way of speaking, "Do you mind if I go to sleep for a bit?" he began tiredly, "I'm kinda late for my siesta."

The mexican hadn't talked to the Italian's brother much yet. But so far they hadn't choked eachother or start fighting so she would say yes. Lupe didn't have a problem with most people and got along fine with them. However she got irritated easily. "Yes," she finally said. I do," she added. Lupe nodded in agreement. There has been a lack of sleep however she did manage to fall asleep some how. Lupe felt bad for Feliciano but at least he didn't dorm with Ivan right? They both seemed to have their dorm issues but it sounded as if they would be able to get over it....hopefully with all their limbs still connected to their bodies. But perhaps that was an overstatment? Maybe.... "Yeah, I hope so too." she added. "And I hope your dorm mates start warming up to you." She added with a friendly smile. "I mean if they get too scary you can come over to my dorm..." she said. She didn't mind that he was a guy, she already shared a dorm with three other guys. However she wasn't sure if he would accept because Ivan was one of those three guys in the dorm. Lupe nodded in agreement and just smiled. "If it weren't for the fact we were at school it would feel like summer. I always got the days mixed up when I was smaller." she admited. "But I do know what you mean." He wanted to take a nap? Sure she didn't mind. She just now realized how tired she was herself from that lack of sleep she got last night. She was used to sleeping a lot more but she just couldn't seem to fall asleep last night. Go figure. "Sure, and if you don't mind can I join you?" she asked hoping he wouldn't say no.
